Who are we and why select us for training?

We are all National Rifle Association (NRA) certified instructors in good standing who have spent years developing our knowledge of firearms and training skills, so we can train you safely and effectively.

All of the instructors I certify are active in IDPA, we shoot frequently and have extensive training in competitive and tactical shooting. We will work with you to assure you have the proper knowledge, skills and attitude to safely use a firearm.

  Yes, you can register and pay on line for the above classes. Plan ahead, get registered now! We have sold out the last 4 carry classes more than two weeks before the class as we limit class size to maintain a personal touch and allow for questions and discussion.

Bob Jahn and Jon Thompson are pleased to continue at INRANGE and Monticello Rod and Gun Club as their official NRA range trainers.

As NRA Certified Instructors we offer a full range of courses, but will continue to concentrate on monthly Permit to Carry classes with hands on training, and videos and PowerPoints to reinforce class materials. We also provide a CD with all class materials at no extra charge!

We also have a low cost class for new shooters who want to learn the basics and be safe with their handguns. Handgun selection is a specialty, get the right gun you! We also offer a beginning and advanced holster class and private classes at both locations.

Bob Jahn and Jon Thompson both strongly believe in continuous training and practice. We shoot many guns and fire thousands of rounds per year. Jon and Bob are both NRA Chief Range Safety Officers, and are NRA certifed in Rifle, Pistol and Shotgun! We are both students of internationally known instructors and authors Jon Farnam, Massad Ayoob and other respected trainers and LEO's. We promise expert real world professional training from educated, articulate instructors who care that you understand the material.

Need a Utah permit or want to learn about it?, Bob and Jon can train you for the nation's most sought after carry permit. It allows you to carry in 11 more states than the MN carry Permit.

You have many options for handgun training. We offer small classes (generally less than 16) and our students consistently rate us as exceeding their expectations. We team teach and have experience training hundreds of shooters. Students range from brand new shooters to police and Force Recon Marines. References are available, and we support our students during and after the class.

How Are We Qualified and by Who has Certified Our Instructors

REJ Firearms Training, a division of Robert E Jahn, LLC, has been fully qualified by the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension as an approved organization certified to train instructors in the Minnesota Personal Protection Act. However, REJ Firearms Training goes further than required by Minnesota statute. REJ requires all its instructors to be certified by the NRA in their advanced course in Personal Protection in the Home. Several of the instructors are also certified in Personal Protection Outside the Home. All of us are avid shooters who can teach you safely and effectively.

The NRA has long been recognized as the gold standard in firearms training. But, In addition to their NRA training, our instructors all have current training from nationally recognized tactical and competitive shooting programs.
